Our group was founded in june 1967 by a few enthusiasts in a little Flemish town called Sint-Gillis-Waas (Belgium). Now, more than 50 years later, we still practice on a weekly basis. Our mission is to preserve the Flemish heritage of dances, flagwaving and folkmusic. On top of that we pass traditions, skills and knowledge to the next generation of dancers and flagwavers.
Every year we perform on several occasions in our own country, as well as in other countries. In the past we already had the pleasure to travel and perform in Slovakia, Poland, Portugal, Finland, South-Africa, Germany, Hungary, Romenia and many others.
Every 5 years, we organize our own international festival, called Drieskes Kerremes. We have had guests from all over the world and make sure they get to know the Belgian hospitality by staying in guestfamilies.
