Nettipattam (Elephant forehead decoration)
Nettipattam (Elephant forehead decoration) is a glittering ornament that is used to adorn the foreheads of elephants in temple festivals. The ornament is a symbol of pride and elegance and it is believed that the ornament brings peace and prosperity in the household.
Traditional Kerala mural paintings are artwork painted directly on the walls. The main characters of the art are Hindu gods and goddesses and depict mythological stories. The traditional technic of painting can be used to paint pottery, flower vase, canvas, garments, etc.
Theyyam is a ritual performance of Kerala. It has different characters representing God, goddesses, Devils, Animals, Victimised heroines, heroes, trees, etc. each character has its own costumes, head gears and godly attire. Theyyam costume craft is a full-fledged craft to make head gear, breast cover, face painting, gorgeous attire, bangles and so on.
